Hounds of Hell

Hounds of Hell by Hacksaw Gaming uses spreading cash-multiplier symbols, with adjacent hounds forming stronger Roaring Packs. This Canadian Roobet guide separates the two bonus payout systems: one carries totals through the round, while the other pays and resets each spin.

Spreading and collection

Only one Hellhound can initially land on a reel. At the end of the spin, it spreads upwards to the top of that reel. Every resulting hound displays a value, collected bottom to top and left to right into the reel total. Adding hounds increase that total; Multiplying hounds multiply it. Reel totals are then added together and multiplied by the bet.

Symbol state Adding values Multiplying values
Normal Hellhound 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x
Roaring Pack 5x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 100x 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x, 20x

Roaring Packs and Hounds are Loose

Two or more hounds on horizontally adjacent positions form a Roaring Pack. Their upward-spread copies also belong to that pack and use its enhanced values. A hound retains pack status even if a cascade later moves it away from the others.

Once the grid settles without further wins, Hounds are Loose may randomly clear all low-paying symbols. Replacements have a greater chance of including Hellhounds. This can happen more than once on a spin.

Optional bonus gamble

At bonus entry, players can proceed directly or choose a gamble involving five Hellfire Orbs. Up to three Orbs may be selected, each potentially awarding two to ten spins. In What the Hell!, an Orb can instead upgrade the feature immediately to Who Let the Hounds Out?!? with ten spins. The gamble is available once per bonus and again after an upgrade; check its on-screen terms before choosing it.

What the Hell!

Three base-game FS scatters award ten spins. Hellhound totals stay above the reels and can increase throughout the round. At the end, all reel totals are added and multiplied by the bet. Hounds are Loose is guaranteed after three consecutive non-winning spins; a spin counts as non-winning only when it has neither a regular symbol win nor a landed Hellhound.

Who Let the Hounds Out?!?

Four base-game FS scatters award ten spins. The first Hellhound on a reel activates it as a Hell Reel for the rest of the bonus, guaranteeing a Hellhound there on each later spin. This mode also uses the enhanced Hounds are Loose rule from What the Hell!, but pays the combined Hellhound totals at the end of each spin and resets reel totals to zero between spins.

Both bonuses award two extra spins for two simultaneous FS symbols and four for three. An FS symbol cannot appear above a Hellhound on the same reel.

Scatter-paying grid

The five-reel, five-row layout pays for six or more identical regular symbols visible anywhere on the grid. Card ranks sit below hands, a star, a skull, horns and the Evil Eye in the paytable. Hellhounds have a separate cash-multiplier function and should not be treated as ordinary substitution Wilds.

Symbols and payouts

The following awards are multiples of the selected bet. Symbols with equal payouts are grouped together; consult the loaded game’s paytable before playing.

Symbol 6 matches 7 matches 8–9 matches 10+ matches
10, J, Q, K, A 0.20x 0.60x 2x 10x
Hands 0.60x 1.40x 4x 15x
Star 0.80x 2x 5x 20x
Skull 1x 3x 6x 30x
Horns 2x 5x 10x 50x
Evil Eye 4x 10x 20x 100x

Optional purchases

Where available, BonusHunt FeatureSpins cost 3x the bet and increase the bonus-trigger chance fivefold. A 60x FeatureSpins option guarantees at least three Hellhounds. Direct entry to What the Hell! is listed at 100x, and Who Let the Hounds Out?!? at 250x. Verify the current menu before paying; a feature guarantee is not a profit guarantee.
